With over 230 concerts a year the Salzburger Schlosskonzerte, held in one of the most beautiful concert halls, the Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, belong to one of the largest concert series.
In 2004 the Salzburger Schlosskonzerte celebrated their 50th anniversary. Founded in 1954 by Prof. Siegfried Hummer, the aim was to entertain a national and international public with classical music of the highest level. Since that time over 12.000 concerts were held in the Marble Hall.
In 1991, Luz Leskowitz, the famous international violinist from Salzburg, took over the Salzburger Schlosskonzerte.
Numerous artists from European and Asian countries, internationally known as well as young musicians on the verge of achieving fame, highly welcome this unique opportunity to perform in Salzburg. The concerts given by talented young prize winners from Salzburg and whole Austria, are a beloved highlight for our international public.
